The Department of Technology – Cybercrime at Harvard College UK addresses the critical global challenge of securing digital infrastructures and combating cyber-enabled crime. Our programmes combine technical expertise with legal knowledge and strategic understanding, preparing students to protect organisations from evolving threats such as ransomware, data breaches, and state-sponsored cyberattacks. We develop professionals capable not only of responding to incidents but also of designing proactive security architectures and contributing to cybersecurity policy and strategy.

The curriculum covers network security, ethical hacking, digital forensics, cryptography, and incident response. Students learn to analyse malware, trace digital activity, and secure cloud-based environments. A distinctive focus is placed on the human dimension of cybersecurity through modules in social engineering and cyberpsychology. Legal studies address computer misuse legislation, data protection frameworks such as GDPR, and international cooperation in cybercrime investigations. The programme continuously evolves to address emerging threats, including Internet of Things (IoT) vulnerabilities and AI-driven cyberattacks.

The Cyber Lab provides a controlled environment for hands-on training in penetration testing and forensic analysis using industry-standard tools. Students participate in capture-the-flag exercises and engage with real-world case studies provided through industry partnerships.
